Mr Hyde's avowed longing for logic and simplicity may questionably create opportunities for some, but at whose expense? - Yours, etc, Lillis Laoire, Eanach Dhin, Cor an Dola, Co na Gaillimhe Have your say on the names of our new local councils As we all know by now, the local government structure is being overhauled and amongst the changes will be the re-naming of local councils. People, especially Irish speakers, are being encouraged to avail of the opportunity to have council and electoral ward names recognized in Irish from now on. Unfortunately, time is short - the deadline is this Wednesday (12/11/08) - but Irish language umbrella group Pobal are urging people to send submissions demanding officially recognized translations of these names in Irish. They ask that you write a short letter to the address below explaining why Irish Language versions should be recognized. As Irish has always been an intrinsic part of our landscape - no matter what the political or ethnic situation of the place - it stands to reason that Irish should be recognised at this level. People will wish to give their own reasons for wanting a council named a particular way, but Pobal has issued a list that may be of help: This includes the Cultural character of the area; history relating to area; Irish- speaking population; Irish schools, nurseries and groups in the area; continuing growth of Irish; government and international policies such as the Good Friday Agreement, St Andrews Agreement, The European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages, The Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. Irish-language versions of place names can be found at: www.ulsterplacenames.org/togrsridainmneacha.htm Or you can get an Irish version of a placename by sending a request by e-mail to townland ub.ac.uk 'The closing date is this Wednesday so don't delay in getting this submission for recognition of your council or electoral ward sent off,' says Nic Sadlier of Pobal.
Beside the sales, the store recently celebrated the special occasions by installing a huge aluminum sign over the building, that gives it a whole new look.
The purpose of National Hospice Month each November is to raise awareness of the medical, emotional and spiritual support available through hospice. Hope provides quality care and is focused on living life as fully as possible. Each of our programs offers Hope in its own special way, said Beckwith. These programs and services are now provided under the umbrella of Hope HealthCare Services.
Hope HealthCare Services encompasses all of our care programs and represents who we are today, serving 2,000 people daily in an eight county area. She added that each person is still cared for as an individual, with their own unique needs. Hope is the core of all of our programs and the core of our mission.
The Hope Chest is located at 13821 North Cleveland Ave
